Key points

What our website support services cover

WordPress sites need regular care. Plugins and themes release updates for security fixes, backups need checking, and things occasionally break. Our website support services take care of this every month, so you are not the one who finds out when the contact form stops working.

WordPress maintenance UK plans

Plan Price Included
Care £39 / month WordPress, theme and plugin updates, daily backups, uptime monitoring, security checks, monthly report
Care Plus £79 / month Everything in Care, plus small monthly edits (text, images, prices) and a speed check

Month to month. Cancel when you like.

Both website support services plans include the same backups and security checks.

Everything our website support services include

Managed WordPress updates

WordPress core, your theme and plugins are updated after a fresh backup, then key pages and forms are checked. If an update causes a problem, we roll back from the backup.

Daily backups

Automatic daily backups stored away from your main server, so a hosting problem cannot take your backups with it. We can restore a single page or the whole site.

Uptime monitoring

Your site is checked every few minutes. If it goes down, we are alerted and investigate straight away.

Security checks

Malware scanning, login protection and checks for plugins with known security problems. If a site is hacked, clean-up is quoted and prioritised.

SSL, domain and PHP checks

We watch for expiring SSL certificates, domain renewals and an out-of-date PHP version on your hosting, which can slow your site and stop updates.

Form and link checks

Contact forms are tested so enquiries are not silently lost, and broken links are flagged.

Monthly report

A short email: what was updated, what we fixed and anything you should know.

More detail

Website support services: Care vs Care Plus
Feature Care £39/month Care Plus £79/month
Updates, backups, uptime, security ✓ ✓
Monthly report ✓ ✓
Small monthly edits (text, images, prices) – ✓
Monthly speed check – ✓
  • The person who built the site has disappeared or stopped replying.
  • The site was hacked, or Google shows a security warning.
  • An update broke the layout or the contact form.
  • Nobody knows the logins for the hosting or domain.
  • The site has become slow and nobody knows why.

We start by securing access and backups, then fix the urgent problem, then put the site on a plan so it does not happen again.

  • New pages, redesigns or new features (quoted separately).
  • Hacked-site clean-up beyond basic checks (quoted and prioritised).
  • Content writing and SEO work (see our SEO packages).
  • Hosting, domain and premium plugin renewals, which stay in your name.

Small businesses that rely on their website for enquiries but do not want to manage updates themselves: trades, clinics, professional firms, local shops and charities. If your site rarely changes and you are comfortable doing updates and backups yourself, you may not need a plan, and we will say so.

  1. Access and audit: we check hosting, domain, WordPress admin, plugins, PHP version and existing backups.
  2. Safety first: a full backup and an off-site copy before anything changes.
  3. Urgent fixes: anything insecure or broken is fixed or quoted first.
  4. Clean-up: unused plugins and themes removed (with your agreement).
  5. Monitoring on: uptime, security and update checks start.
  6. First report: what we found and what we did.
  • Strong passwords and two-factor login for admin accounts.
  • Only the users who need access, with the right roles.
  • Login attempt limits and a web application firewall where hosting provides one.
  • No “nulled” or pirated plugins, which often contain malware.
  • HTTPS everywhere and up-to-date PHP.

Hosting companies look after the server: keeping it running and secure. They usually do not test plugin updates against your site, fix layout problems or check your contact form. Our website support services cover your WordPress site itself, so the two work together.

A hacked page, a broken form or a week of downtime can undo months of SEO work. Google may show security warnings, drop affected pages or slow down crawling while the problem lasts. Regular updates, monitoring and backups keep the site healthy, so the work you have invested in keeps paying back.

If something goes badly wrong, we restore the most recent clean backup, check key pages and forms, then find and fix the cause so it does not happen again. Most restores are done the same day.

  • The dashboard shows a long list of pending updates.
  • You are not sure when the last backup was taken, or whether it works.
  • The site has become slow or shows errors.
  • Enquiries have dropped and you are not sure the form still works.
  • Nobody in the business knows the hosting or domain logins.

Any one of these is a good reason to look at website support services before something breaks.

Nothing is held back. You keep the site, all logins and your backups, and we remove our user account when you ask. We can also hand over a short note of anything you should keep an eye on.

Out-of-date plugins are one of the most common ways WordPress sites get hacked. WordPress itself publishes guidance on keeping a site secure, and updates sit near the top of the list. We test updates and keep a backup, so if something does clash we can roll back quickly.

Skipping updates for a few months is how small problems become expensive ones.

If you are comparing plans, check they include tested updates, off-site backups you can restore, uptime monitoring and a named person to contact. We go into more detail in our guide to website costs in the UK, including the running costs most quotes leave out.

We support WordPress sites built by anyone. We start with a quick check, tell you if anything urgent needs fixing, and then add the site to a plan. If the site is slow, our WordPress speed optimisation service fixes that first. Need a new site instead? See our website design packages.

Sites we did not build sometimes need a one-off tidy-up before they join a plan, such as removing old plugins or fixing a broken backup. We quote for that first, so there are no surprises on your first invoice.

  1. Backup first. A fresh backup before anything changes.
  2. Updates. WordPress, theme and plugins updated, then the key pages and forms checked.
  3. Security scan. Malware and login checks.
  4. Uptime. Monitoring every few minutes, all month.
  5. Report. A short email: what was updated, anything we fixed, anything you should know.

Our website support services are deliberately simple. If you ever need a bigger change than Care Plus covers, we quote for it first.

Many owners only think about support after something breaks. A plan costs less than one emergency fix, and means a named person already knows your site when you need help.
