Terms and conditions
Last updated: October 2026.
1. Who we are
These terms apply to all work done by RankCrest (Glasgow, Scotland) (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@rankcrest.co.uk or 07438 839864.
They apply together with the written quote or proposal we send you. If the quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins.
2. Quotes and scope
Every job starts with a written quote that says what is included, the price and the expected timescale. A quote is valid for 30 days. Work that is not in the quote is extra, and we will always give you a price and get your OK before doing it.
3. Website projects
Package details are on our website design packages page.
Payment
a deposit of 50% to book the project and the balance before the site goes live.
Timescale
most sites take two to four weeks once we have your content. If content or feedback is delayed by more than 30 days, we may pause the project and restart when it arrives.
Revisions
Two rounds of changes to the design are included. Further changes are quoted in writing before we start.
Ownership
once the project is paid in full, you own the website, its content, the domain and the hosting account. Plugins and themes stay under their own licences.
4. Monthly SEO and local SEO
- Monthly packages are paid monthly in advance.
- There is a 3-month minimum term. After that, the plan runs month to month and either of us can end it with 30 days' written notice (an email is fine).
- We report every month on the work done.
Prices are on our pricing page.
5. Website support plans
Care and Care Plus plans run month to month and are paid monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time and the plan ends at the end of the month already paid. When a plan ends you keep the site, all logins and your backups.
6. One-off jobs
SEO audits, Google Business Profile optimisation and speed work are paid as set out in your written quote. We deliver the agreed report or work within the timescale in the quote.
7. What we need from you
- Accurate information about your business, and the content, logins and access we ask for.
- Confirmation that you have the right to use any text, photos, logos or other material you send us.
- Prompt feedback, so the project keeps moving.
8. Results and third parties
Nobody controls Google. We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, Google Business Profile visibility or enquiries, and we will never say we do. We follow Google’s published guidelines and do the work we agree to, with reasonable skill and care.
Hosting, domains, paid plugins, stock photos and advertising spend are paid by you directly to the supplier, so they stay in your name. We are not responsible for outages or changes made by those suppliers or by Google.
9. Late payment
Invoices are due within 7 days. If an invoice is unpaid we may pause work until it is paid. For business customers we may also claim interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
10. Our liability
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the service concerned in the 3 months before the claim. We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue or data, or other indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. If you are a consumer
Most of our clients buy as a business. If you buy as a consumer (not for your trade or business), you have extra rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and usually a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
12. Confidentiality and your data
We keep your business information confidential and only use it to do the work. We may show work we have done on our website only with your permission. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
13. Complaints, changes and law
If something is not right, tell us at hello@rankcrest.co.uk and we will reply within 5 working days. We may update these terms; the version on this page when you accept a quote applies to that work. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and its courts have jurisdiction.
